The First Amendment does not say you can say whatever you want, whenever you want without consequences and that no one can criticize or complain. The First Amendment says that the government cannot suppress your speech. Since the FBI didn't storm PyCon and arrest this guy, I'm going to go ahead and say that his First Amendment rights are intact.

Secondly, while I agree that tweeting the picture crossed the line, she has in no way acted to harass these men. Harassment requires a continued pattern of hostile action. She acted on one occasion. (One action ALSO does not constitute a crusade.)

Ms. Richards has indicated on her blog that she did not overhear this conversation- she was part of it, and even if she wasn't, you can't possibly be suggesting that anyone should have an expectation of privacy in a crowded convention hall.

Twitter? Sure, because people know what to expect, and if they're offended, there are actions that can be taken. They can complain to Twitter, for example, or they can unfollow or block the person who is tweeting content they find offensive. Her Twitter page is exclusively her space, within which she can say what she pleases. The middle of that convention hall was NOT exclusively his space, and her right to feel safe and comfortable trumped his right to make dick jokes.

These gentlemen were attending in a professional capacity, representing their company, and his behavior was unprofessional. It was not an appropriate place to make dick jokes. Adria Richards did not stand up and start screaming, she did not demand they leave the convention, and she didn't contact their place of employment to file a complaint. She tweeted, asking PyCon staff to handle a situation she found inappropriate and uncomfortable.

She was not overreacting. She was calling this guy out on inappropriate behavior in a public and professional forum. Tweeting the picture was over the line, but she absolutely does NOT deserve to be tormented and threatened because she was vocal and active about behavior that was out of place and offensive.

No. She overreacted and actual became the harasser in this case. To many on the internet are giving her a pass because of her color and gender instead of looking at the facts.

Like it or not, this country has this thing called the First Amendment. Tough shit is someone is offended when overhearing a conversation that has nothing to do with them. In fact, Adria took it completely out of context and has never once clarified exactly what the jokes were she heard. That is the wonderful thing about America - we are free to speak our minds without some crusader with a hair across their ass with a point to prove - of invading our private space and turning into a public shamefest.

Adria deserves every single bit of bad attitude that is coming to her over this. Especially since she has already been proven to be a complete hypocrite by making her own dick jokes publically over twitter but overhears another conversation and turns it into a crusade.

Ah, the piss-poor economy. As a Brit, it was fecking hilarious running around with £50,000 in my pockets (all in change from the looks of things).
I didn't seem to have the same problem with combat as you did, I mostly relied on counter-attacks during fights so most of the time it was just a case of figuring out which enemies could be instakilled and which had to be disarmed first. Horses, though, fuck horses (not in that way). I remember one mission that took ages, longer than the Hickey and Lee chases, simply because the only way to catch up with the guy was on horseback and my horse thought it was George of the Jungle. "WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE-- well, feck." "Desynchronized - target lost"
The climbing got easier once I got round the idea of only holding RT and not A too but trees were just a pain in the arse. All those tree-based viewpoints that I didn't bother with, simply because the route was the stupidest possible one, and I was 90% guaranteed to die jumping out of them at the end. Thank Minerva (or Juno, but probably not because she's batshit crazy) for the autosave on synchronization.

I really need to get a capture card so I can record things like that chase. Then I could speed it up and set it to the Benny Hill music. It would have been awesome.

Goddamn that Thomas Hickey. As much as I wish others didn't have to go through this, I am glad I am not alone. Chasing that mother fucker for as long as I did I started to seriously question my chops as a gamer. It is nice to know that it was just a really shitty game. I also have to be thankful that my Xbox is a Star Wars Xbox because the controller looking like C3P0 is the only thing that kept it from going out the window during the majority of ACIII.
